Lighting at these industrial sites must absolutely take into account the ambient humidity levels at the premises to avoid condensation forming inside electrical equipment. Corrosion can damage equipment at an early stage if it is not designed to withstand these conditions.
With these factors in mind and given that the switch to LED technology is now inevitable for all businesses, it is critical to invest in quality, reliable and long-lasting luminaires to limit the need for maintenance, particularly in zones which are difficult to access. Sammode sells dedicated equipment with an 8-year warranty and a service life covering several decades or more.
Sewerage, wastewater pipes and wastewater pumping stations are contained spaces through which water flows to the purification units for treatment. These environments not only record humidity of up to 90%, but they are also potentially explosive with an ATEX rating.
Sammode luminaires are particularly durable and robust, with a service life of several decades, especially in these environments where luminaires are not lit at all times. By switching to a Sammode LED luminaire, you can forget the need for relamping in these difficult-to-access areas for many years.
Underground stormwater ponds are vast water cisterns which are used to avoid flooding in urban areas or the discharge of dirty water into rivers. They can fill up rapidly before the water retained is progressively routed to a water treatment plant.
The configuration (depth, width) of these ponds varies significantly, and can benefit from the wide range of products and options offered by Sammode, in an ATEX zone, to adapt to all situations or needs (fixing methods, power, dimensions). Sammode housings are durable, well-sealed, can withstand temporary immersion and are made from tough materials (stainless steel mechanical parts and composite diffuser), ensuring an exceptionally long-lasting service life in a corrosive environment. Sammode luminaires dedicated to explosive environments are particularly light and easy to use when compared with other models available on the market. If you aim to install your luminaires in record-breaking time, opt for a Plug & Play model pre-equipped with a pluggable ATEX lead produced in partnership with Marechal Electric.

Sand filter, degreaser, settling and sludge treatment basins are the main operational zones for water treatment. Wastewater is progressively cleaned in these basins, removing increasingly fine materials, before the water is sent to a clarifier for final treatment.
The luminaires lighting up these areas, which are also passageways, must be particularly well sealed and robust, able to withstand the risk of explosion (ATEX) and humidity, and provide light in outdoor areas exposed to UV radiation and temperature variations. With this environment in mind, the switch to LED luminaires provides an opportunity to invest in equipment with an exceptional service life and limit the need for maintenance thanks to corrosion-proof housings, protecting the electronics from humidity over the long term.

Personnel at wastewater treatment plants primarily use maintenance tunnels to move around indoor areas, but they are also used outdoors. Maintenance tunnels are used by personnel passing through, as is the case for clarifiers, which are the final wastewater treatment tanks where the water is subjected to centrifugal forces to remove sludge (captured at the bottom of the tank) and floating residues (which are progressively removed by pouring).
These zones must be equipped with efficient, solid and durable general lighting to guarantee smooth operation and staff safety. As in other areas in the wastewater treatment plants, it is recommended that robust emergency lighting is also installed, adapted to the constraints of the specific environment. Emergency lights designed to guide an evacuation in the event of a power outage could be installed, or alternatively replacement lighting models with a 3-hour life to guarantee that operations can continue.

Sludge treatment areas and incinerators extend the treatment process for waste extracted from wastewater, by treating and drying sludge for future use as agricultural manure, and by burning sludge residues that cannot be treated. The luminaires installed near the incinerators must be able to withstand the very high temperatures reached by this equipment.
Sammode luminaires have been designed to withstand the most extreme conditions, including heat. Switching to LED luminaires represents an investment for the next half century, reducing energy bills considerably and drastically limiting the need for luminaire maintenance. In many cases, Sammode lighting will outlast the production site.

Like many industrial sites, the areas around wastewater treatment plants and water purification plants require suitable lighting to ensure the comfort and safety of personnel and to protect equipment. While this type of lighting apparently faces less extreme conditions than lighting in other zones, the luminaires must withstand repeated exposure to bad weather, UV radiation and temperature variations in the long term.
On this basis, luminaires installed on the façades of buildings, but also floodlights on masts, must be designed to last to minimise maintenance and provide optimal lighting at all times.

We start by analysing your operating conditions, installation requirements and other specific needs, and then recommend the most suitable solutions.
Our lighting studies are designed to identify the precise quantity of luminaires and quality of the lighting solution required, while minimsing the number of light sources and energy use.
To reduce your energy bill and improve your lighting control, our experts will suggest the management solutions best suited to your situation.
As both designer and manufacturer, we systematically study the best technical solutions and are able to adapt them to meet your needs.
We can manage your project from start to finish, from studies to installation, including any tests required in actual operating conditions.
We offer an ultimate 8-year warranty for most of our products, the only such offer available on the lighting market under intensive 24/7 operating conditions.
